In this next series, you'll hear from each of our teammates about their creative values and philosophy and why we feel so passionate about cultivating creativity in others.
“There is time to create and there is time to connect. Both are equally valuable. As artists we create, pour ourselves into our craft, emotionally exfoliate using our medium as the vehicle of expression and allow ourselves to be vulnerable. We must also nourish the creative spirit, gather, commiserate, share victories and triumphs, cheerlead for one another and walk away inspired to start the process all over again.
At the core of all creative endeavors is storytelling. Whether you’re using a visual medium, the written word, music or oral tradition, creativity is the strongest connective tissue between ourselves and others. It’s through art, music, and stories that we can explore others in the community, our friends and neighbors, their likeness to us, or lack thereof. It’s from there that empathy finds its way and kindness grows. Even if we don’t relate we can gain some insight to others’ human experience. It’s powerful.”
