“My philosophy as an artist is pretty simple: if you want to get better at your craft, surround yourself with people who are better than you. The world is full of classes and schools and self-help books that are designed to facilitate creative growth - and those are great resources! But in my experience, the best resource is that artist who’s just a little further along than you are. Someone who knows where you’ve been and knows how to get past that point.
And when you’re the person who’s further down the road - be someone who allows young artists to reach out to you. Don’t dismiss someone just because they’re beginners. You were a beginner too, not that long ago.”
