#LoveLocal: Jackie from Blue Cactus Press

“I want other people to see that they can live and speak their multitudes in public—we all can.” -@ccthemighty

Christina Vega is many things to their community—a poet, a publisher, a writing coach, and a caretaker, just to name a few—and they want you to know that you can be, too. Christina embraces their unique multitudes and celebrates how each role can further connect them to the Tacoma community.

-

Another thing they want you to know? There’s an incredible writing community all around you. “Several pockets of writers are building community around town, specifically focused on genres like poetry, fiction, sci-fi, or self-help, not to mention those crafting their own independent publishing houses. I am constantly blown away by how willing folks in this city are to share resources, skills, and information. Tacoma is the perfect seedbed for creative writing and book endeavors.”

You can find them wandering local trails and neighborhood gardens, sharing poetry, and publishing works by Queer and BIPOC authors at @bluecactuspress. 📖
