Foster’s Boozy Recipe Feature: Bourbon & Blossoms
Ring in the spring season proper like and start putting flowers in everything.
It adds a little whimsy and just feels right as the cherry trees and backyard blossoms begin to bloom. This recipe is a take on a classic whiskey sour but adds a little pop of color and dry tart finish with hibiscus syrup. Why? Because sometimes we just wanna feel fancy.
Ingredients
2 ounces bourbon (your choice)
.25 ounce simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water)
.5 ounce hibiscus syrup (I recommend Wild Hibiscus but you can find many versions at your local retailer)
1 ounce lemon juice
1 egg white
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin with a couple ice cubes
Make sure tin is sealed and shake the sweet bejesus out of it - watch some youtube videos and play with your form a bit - trust me, it’s fun
Strain into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora
Garnish with hibiscus flower
